With(out) discretion

I am watching two 6-year-old kids chatting. They are whispering about a video game, laugh out of the blue and hug each other unpredictably.

Life was way more fun then. We could openly be shy. Or, stop talking to someone, just because we didn’t like them. We could laugh out loud whenever we were excited. In public or private. We’d say hi to strangers and wink at them, just because we liked them. We’d hug, just because. We never looked for any excuse.

What an old grumpy useless evil was the guy who invented discretion.
